Potty Training!!!!
We officially started potty training last Friday. After a weekend of insanity, we have turned the corner. Today she has told me when she has to go, once after she already went, but we are making progress!!! Please send prayers as I am trying to hold it together, while I change wet underwear and hold a screaming baby! :)

Carter had his 1 month check-up yesterday. He is now 10 pounds 13 ounces. In a month he gained 3 pounds. I guess it is no surprise that my kids eat!
As you can see, the city kid isn't use to the "excitement" of the farm. The weather was freezing, but she had such a good time. Thanks, Grandpa! She was even on the farm radio and called to the house, "breaker, breaker, mom." It was too funny!
Kennedy and Joe
Nana has a little golfer statue at her house and he is just Kennedy's height. I think she fell in love with him. She kept kissing him and hugging him. She would even boss him around and tell him to "stay there." It was hilarious!

Daddy hanging out with Kennedy and Carter. The media room downstairs, which he refers to as the "man cave" has now been taken over. The "man cave" isn't just for men anymore!!!
Happy Birthday Kennedy!!!
We are a little behind in getting the pictures out, but Kennedy had a great birthday with her family.

Another first for Kennedy. Nana and Katie C took K-Train to the movies for the first time yesterday. They saw Madagascar and she fell in love with "I like to move it, move it." Enjoy.
Big day for the Cornhuskers! Thanks to the Compton's garb yesterday, the Huskers got a big win over the Jayhawks. GO HUSKERS!

I think Carter is wondering what he got into! Kennedy is obviously a little animated and Tony and I can't stop kissing him. He poses alot in thought.....Things that make you go hmmm.....
Just a few pictures of the little prince. We had an appointment yesterday to see how he is doing and everything is going great! He is already past his birth weight and after he ate yesterday he had taken in 2 ounces! Yippee!!! I don't think this surprises anyone, but our kids are eaters! Thanks for all the kind thoughts and prayers. Carter is doing great and Kennedy has taken to him nicely. She is already reading him books and loves to help with the diapers! Enjoy!

Another big day for the Comptons!!!
Carter and I have been sitting outside the voting booths eyeing anyone that looks like they voted for Obama and he is puking on them. Gotta go, here comes the lunch rush...

Monkey business.
Since mom is going to be a little busy for a while, we thought it would be good to get Kennedy a monkey, her favorite, to take care of while mom is helping Carter. Dad made the mistake of not noticing the monkey sings "If you are happy and you know it". Once he found this out, he secretly learned how to shut off the power so we would not have to hear the song for the thousandth time in 24 hours. Little did we know we have a little rocket scientist on our hands. Wow.

HE'S HOME!!!
We got home with our son at 5pm yesterday. Everyone is doing great and I don't know if Kennedy or dad is prouder. (Notice the bright yellow I'm the big sister shirt)

Update on Beth and Carter:
Everyone is doing well. Beth came home yesterday. She is feeling very good. Carter is doing well too. He got a little water on his lungs from the delivery. Must have taken the first breath a little too quickly. As a precaution, they wanted to give him antibiotics to make sure he didn't get pneumonia or an infection. They do that through an IV and so he had to go to the NICU at Stormont. He is doing great. Beth is now feeding him and he is already gaining weight (our kids seem to have no trouble eating). The dose of antibiotics will not be done until Monday evening so they have to keep him there until then. If everything goes well, we will be bring him home Monday night or Tuesday morning.
Since we had not dealt with the NICU with Kennedy, it was a little scary and overwhelming. We quickly saw how fortunate we are and that we are happy that they are taking this precaution to make sure he is healthy and strong when he comes home.
Thanks for all the calls, text, emails, prayers, etc. I will post again on Tuesday with an update and hopefully report that Kennedy is changing Carter's diapers at home, so I don't have to. :)

Kennedy was in a wedding this weekend in Texas. The videos didn't come out very well, it was kindof dark. Here is a picture of out VERY happy princess.
Why buy a jungle gym when we have bar stools? She didn't get it at first as you can tell by the 7 times she says, "cheese."
Kennedy's cousin, Porter, was baptized (in August) and here are a few pictures. I'm so glad we have documentation of the wonderful beast-that would be me in the gray dress.
I'm not sure Kennedy appreciated Porter having the attention. :)

Once a track star now a basketball star....not if I have anything to do with it! :) Good thing we are having a boy. I think Kennedy likes the attention from Daddy more than playing basketball. She won't have time for basketball practice when she is at dance class.
Here is Kennedy singing "twinkle, twinkle little star." She gets a little sidetracked when her baby loses a sticker. You can hear the first part. She will sing the whole thing and then clap afterwards. Clearly Tony's daughter! :)
Uncle Chad bought a house and Kennedy was helping him measure. Please note the intense look on her face. I really think she knew what she was doing. :)

Kennedy will now say, "on your mark, get set, go, " and takes off running. here is a little demonstration our future track star!
4th of July was pretty tame at the Compton house. Tony lit some fireworks, but not too many. Kennedy did not like him very close to the fireworks. She would say, "No, daddy." But loved the fireworks and smoke afterwards. Here she is dragging around a cooler. Busy, Busy!

Kennedy is quite the little girl. Anytime you ask her to show you are pretty she is, she sways back and forth and says, "woo, woo." I had nothing to do with it. :) Here she is in new summer pjs that nona got for her.

On Father's day, we went swimming. Kennedy is quite the swimmer. She would put her face in the water and wasn't never afraid. My little swimmer. Aunty Katie C helped out!
Well, it has been so long since i have posted, i'm going to save my usual clever comments and just post pictures.

Kennedy has recently become found of fruit. Not necessarily eating it, but holding in a carrying it around like it is a friend. First she carried around 2 roma tomatoes through the store all the way home and into the house. The other day it was a cantaloupe. This time she then carried it to the living room to watch tv with it. It is quite hilarious to see how serious she is about it. The first picture is of her after I tried to carry it instead. The next one is of her and her new friend watching t.v. I guess it could be worse...
